Wild in the Streets (1968)

Kind of dogshit stupid in a fun fever-dream way. Feels like in between all the pearl-clutching and psychosexual dredging the writer just regurgitates the chewed-up sentiments of real student radicals and is mugging for the camera behind the camera expecting the audience to shake their damn heads at the idea that gerontocracy or the CIA might actually be bad… Well, maybe he was right given how mainstream opinion after the Kent State shootings was against the students for making those poor little soldiers shoot them to death. Chokes right at the end—too cowardly to have the kid pull out a revolver and smoke Adolf Bieber. Still, at least you get to see a senator hang himself.
