Fargo season 4 (2020)

Spreads itself too thin—it has far too many main characters and their range is much narrower. No-one has the borderline supernatural menace of Malvo or Hanzee or Varga (the closest is Oraetta, but she barely gets any evil done). No-one has that dogged pursuit of truth like Molly or Lou or Gloria (the closest is Ethelrida, but only a little near the end). In other seasons the characters are shot through with allegory and many exist mainly to make a point or further another character's plot, but in season 4 they try to make everyone the hero of their own story and they just don't have the time. The monochrome Oz episode's very fun, though—it's like all the usual Fargo series allegory stuffed into one hour.
