Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo (2012)

Ghibli does live-action CGI horror and does a surprisingly good job of it (though it's definitely more in conversation with Nausicaä than a more standalone work). Visions of a world sleepwalking into disaster, half-awake but refusing to acknowledge the warning signs, followed by a spectacle of apocalyptic alienation, all while the narrator describes her experience of these events and ruminates on humanity's place in, and relation to, an indifferent world.
