Lupin III Part IV: The Italian Adventure (2015)
Kinda funny that the next Lupin series after The Woman Called Fujiko Mine goes right back to all the gender bullshit the latter ripped to shreds. Almost every female character needs the saving or guiding hand of a man and the writers lay the machismo on thick. Would they have the guts to do e.g. episode 9 with the genders reversed? Well, onto the good: the OP and ED are bangers and their style sometimes crosses into the show itself. The slightly-sketchy character art matches the characters' energy so well; I prefer it to the cleaner lines of Part 5. The settings are beautiful and the music is on point. There's some genuinely affecting episodes! A mixed bag, worthwhile more for the one-off stories than for the anemic attempts at an over-arching plot.
