Lupin III: The Secret Page of Marco Polo (2012)

Fucking dire. Animation-wise, it's full of lazy CGI, weightless plasticky superhero motion, and conversations made out of flat one-person close-ups. Character-wise, there's zero ambiguity or pathos or really any depth of any kind to either the main villain or any of the local characters (all the women in particular are just useless one-note caricatures whose plot relevance largely comes through men). Plot-wise, Lupin/Jigen/Fujiko's part is so rote it hurts, and Goemon's side-story is excruciatingly bland. Politically naive, aspirationally decrepit, thoroughly soulless.
