Men in Black III (2012)

A flawed update to the series that replaces the more natural comedy of the first with bits and action movie one-liners and has a plot that relies heavily on stupid decisions to get going. However, it still has the first entry's self-undermining approach to criticising racism (e.g. the 2010s are shown as more xenophobic than the 1960s, but the protagonists are doing it so it's fine). There's way more CGI location work that's better than the second film, but still not great (though the time travel sequence is fun). Despite all these problems, it has a stronger emotional heart than the second film, including a few genuine quandaries for a kids' film, and some good, if rote gags like the giant neuralyser.
