An “apolitical” teen fun version of Dawn of the Dead… This film has the pacing of a transcendental number and the mixing of a deaf bat; the style of a psychedelic laser tag arena and the grace of a made-for-TV teen comedy movie; the cast of Ferris Bueller's Day Off versus the cast of Day of the Dead versus the cast of the music video for Pet Shop Boys' Opportunities. The end result veers between dull and insane, though towards the end it gets hamstrung by an inability to decide whether it's kid-friendly or a teen comedy. Well, sometimes a movie is just a series of things happening, I guess.
