This film averages out—a lotta neat setpieces and events and sincere attempts at characterisation brought down by George Lazenby's acting inexperience, but elevated again by the surrounding performances. Ahead of its time for a Bond film, and The People hated it for that. Well, that and maybe the laughably shitty ending.
