On the Silver Globe (1988)

A Polish Soviet science-fiction epic about space colonists, telepathic birds, and messianic disasters, based on a trilogy of novels from 1901. More sublime apocalyptica, divinely demented soliloquys, and weird, incestuous space colonists than you can shake a stick at, plus one of the trashiest cars to grace the silver screen. And, of course, the giggler—every film gotta have a giggler.
