John Woo truly one of the greats of all time when it comes to handsome homoerotic star-crossed men of action. Of course, the one notable female character is a nothing role, more of a prop or a flexible piece of scenery. Dudes rock and brotherhood is real, sure, but Woo goes out of his way to remove virtually all presence of active femininity or womanhood.
