Tokyo Drifter (1966)

The spine-twisting conditions the studio forced the director to work in resulted in an electrifying work that stops for nothing and no-one, aside from the Looney Tunes-esque sailor bar fight scene that's a brief vacation from plot and sense. Some really nice blocking and lighting, and simple but strong characters. Another “dudes rock, brotherhood is real, women aren't real” film.
