Like Janus, the game faces in two directions at once, but without divinity this is impossible and the enterprise is doomed to failure.

Okay you've got a Link's Awakening-inspired story mode and a roguelite combat challenge mode, but the former has none of its inspiration's text, subtext, dialogue, spirit, or chaos, and the latter has limited replayability. If it's not clear, I feel like the dev shoulda picked a lane instead of dividing their attention and resources between two separate things. The story mode constantly assaults you with weak “achievements”, too, like “you got a dungeon key!” and “you got [key item]!”. On the plus side, the enemies are well-designed and all have some tricky aspect (some more than others) and the well-drawn graphics do pop with colour.
