They took a great idea, broke its arms and legs, and left it to drown in a bathtub.

Most of the vehicles have such high top speed and acceleration and low handling they're almost uncontrollable at the speed you're meant to play, turning the game into Self-Demolition Derby as you fly off narrow platforms or miss tight jumps, or even just flail around an obstacle in a way the game deems to be cheating, all of which result in the game unceremoniously exploding you to bits. As for the tracks, they come in themed groups (“lab”, “garden”, “kitchen”, etc.), but don't have much individual character.

Battle-scarred veterans of F-Zero GX looking for a real challenge should try this game on Turbo level 5.
