Welcome to Yardang

Yardang is the old, unfiltered version of my online poetry notebook, Seaglass. It includes everything I wrote up to May 2026 with almost no filter, but isn't being updated any more.

For a lot of 2025 I added basically anything to Seaglass and a lot of it wasn't great—some were even there mostly just to increase the poem count. I do think there's a benefit to the journal approach, showing how I changed (and how I revised certain poems over time), but there's no curation, no focus. That wastes a lotta time for anyone who's just lightly reading through (which is probably anyone reading Seaglass). Keeping the original set of poems in Yardang and cutting down Seaglass lets me have it both ways.

Poems are ordered by date from bottom to top. Poems written on the same date are ordered alphabetically from bottom to top. Some poems have titles formatted like this; the others are listed with their first line. Some poems have comments, which are shown after the poem itself.
